The Advisory Service

Our advisory service aims to provide your group with the support your need  to more confidently manage your finances.

We will assign a team of passionate, hardworking and smart accounting students to work with your group for eight weeks.  They can help you with matters such as improving your systems, getting your books in order for funding applications, and or helping you understand your accounts.   Students are supervised by Chartered Accountants and have access to specialist community advisers.

We take on new advisory clients twice per year, from March to June and then July to October.  Conditions apply and places are limited.

The Coordinator will get in touch to discuss your needs and ensure it is something we can help with. We do not provide an accounting, audit or review service and we cannot provide financial advice. We cannot provide advice to businesses or private individuals.

What does working with Community Accounting look like?

Step One

Our student teams will  meet with your group under the supervision of a Chartered Accountant and community adviser to discuss your needs.

Step Two

Following the meeting the students will work with you to come up with a plan to meet your needs.  This may include providing one on one training,  updating your spreadsheets or accounting software, and or explaining your finances to your Board or Committee.    A Chartered Accountant will assist with this.

Step Three

The students then work with you to implement the plan over the next 6-8 weeks.  If there’s anything that they cannot help with then we will do our best to find someone else who can.
